The cost of some of this equipment may be a bit high and intimidating, but please know that it will be a worthwhile investment, as these are items your son, as a freshman, will get at the very least, four years of use from; more, If he decides to continue lacrosse into college and beyond. I do suggest checking out the app/website Sidelineswap.com which sells pre-owned equipment and can be compared to platforms such as “Let Go” or “Offer Up.” For new equipment, I always recommend going to Lacrosse Unlimited (Especially for a New lacrosse Stick), these are stores that specialize in lacrosse equipment and gear; But Dick’s Sporting Goods or Big 5 Sports may offer a limited selection of pieces of equipment for less but usually cant make recommendations because they are not special

Always start with some of the best places to find lacrosse equipment

Things to keep in mind:

  • Try to always make sure your equipment is proper to your age range and size.
  • Do your best to try to make sure your gloves & helmet are neutral team colors such as white or grey
  • Make sure your arm guards and chest pads are position-specific (Attack, Midfielders, Defense, Goalie)
  • Please make sure any helmet you choose to purchase is either a Cascade CVR or Cascade S-Youth
  • Please make sure you have Lacrosse or Football (cross-training) cleats; NO SOCCER OR BASEBALL CLEATS.
